CAR 2 GO APP NOT HACKED IN CHICAGO

Over 100 cars were stolen in a short space of time to commit crimes in the area. Initial reports were that the app was hacked, which Car 2 Go has strenuously denied. However, the app was used to gain access to the vehicles. To read more click the Digital Trends article here.

GOOGLE MAPS ADDS AVAILABLE EV CHARGING POINTS TO MAPS

Google has updated it's map service to include EV charging points and their live status. This should make it easier for those looking for an available charger. To read more click the Motoring Research article here.

COMMUNITY EV SCHEMES IN RURAL WALES

Something that the chaps have discussed before are community car clubs for EVs. Some communities in rural Wales have done this very thing. The cars can be booked out and help people get to around. MOTORWAY ACCIDENTS ROCKET 88 PERCENT IN THE DARK

Many sections of motorways have had the lights switched off, as part of austerity steps several years ago. This has led to an increase in accidents for these areas of 88%, however, looking at the numbers and not just the percentage, there has been a rise from 93 to 175 between 2010 and 2017.
