FOLLOW UP: FORD CONFIRMS BRIDGEND JOB LOSSES

JANUARY 2019 NEW CAR REGISTRATION FIGURES
The New Car Registration figure, for the UK, was down 1.6% compared to January 2018. Fleet and particularly Business markets were down, with private slightly up. Diesel, again was down, with Alternative Fuel Vehicles up 26.3%. To read more click the SMMT article here.
NISSAN MOVES FUTURE X-TRAIL PRODUCTION TO JAPAN
Nissan announced that it will now not be building the new X-Trail in Sunderland. Much comment and an awful lot of nonsense has been written and spoken since the decision became public. There are many reasons why this is happening, including Brexit and the on-going uncertainty with the type of ‘deal’ Britain will end up with, the anti-diesel narrative are but two aspects of this. PORSCHE DECLARED WRONG 911 FUEL CONSUMPTION
Porsche has admitted, to the German Transport Ministry, that the fuel and emission figures submitted for the outgoing 911 (991-series) in 2016 and 2017 were incorrect. This could result in a hefty fine for the manufacturer. The extent of the miscalculation is not known yet. To read more click the Autocar article here.
MERCEDES AND BOSCH EMISSION LAWSUIT GREEN LIGHT

DESIGNERS MOOD BOARD: WAYNE BURGESS HEADS GEELY UK DESIGN CENTRE
