FOLLOW UP: VW RAIDED AGAIN

Prosecutors have raided Volkswagen again, this time on a fresh hunt for evidence of market manipulation. The focus is a statement that 32,000 vehicles had their mpg understated when previously VW thought it was 800,000 vehicles affected. To read more click the Automotive News Europe article here.

AUTONOMOUS UBER IN FATAL ACCIDENT

In Arizona, an Uber Volvo XC90, hit and killed a woman crossing the road, whilst in autonomous mode. The full facts are not in the public domain, to this tragedy. MAYOR OF LONDON’S TRANSPORT STRATEGY REVEALED

100 NEW EV CHARGERS IN LONDON

The Polar network has installed and switched on 100 new EV charging points, with 51 dedicated to the new LEVC TX cabs. These are the 50kW chargers. To read more click the Autocar article here.

BMW RAISES CO2 FIGURES ACROSS THE RANGE

Following the undertaking of the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), which will be the new standard for cars, replacing the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), BMW has increased the official CO2 outputs across the entire range. FORMULA E PUNTA DEL ESTE

Jean-Eric Vergne lead from the pole he was gifted, 30 minutes before the start of the race following a lengthy investigation into di Grassi and track limits. Lucas di Grassi fought really quite hard to get the win, but couldn’t get past Vergne. Sam Bird was third, following an excellent drive along with fourth place Mitch Evans. UBER MOVEMENT COMES TO LONDON

Uber has announced that their ‘urban planning tool’ Uber Movement to London. You will be able to login and see how long their journey will take and compare that to historical data. Andrew is not a fan of this. To read more click The Verge article here.
