FOLLOW UP - PSA NOW OWNS OPEL/VAUXHALL

The ownership of the car elements of Opel/Vauxhall has now been confirmed, as was rumored, it would occur, at the end of July. The financial element of General Motors is still being worked through. To read more click the Autocar article here.

FOLLOW UP - LEVC TX LONDON CAB PRICE

The London Electric Vehicle Company has announced the price for the TX, which starts from £55,599. This will equate to £179 per week for five years. To read more click the Autocar article here.

NEW PETROL AND DIESEL ONLY ENGINED CARS BANNED IN UK FROM 2040

In the aftermath of the news, that new ICE only engined cars will be banned from 2040, which was part of the UK Government's environmental paper. There was, as seems to be the norm these days, hysteria and silliness for something that will happen in 23 years. One would think, it was going to come into force tomorrow and the Government was going to take our cars away from us.

ANNOUNCEMENT - ROAD TRIP

In a first for the Motoring Podcast, the chaps announce a road-trip. They will be using a regular priced electrical car to see how far they can drive around Great Britain in six days. The road-trip will take place from 28 August until 2 September 2017. More information will be released as we get closer to the date!

POSSIBLE DIESEL VEHICLE TAX RISE

As part of the information in the DEFRA paper that outlined the 2040 news, there was another section that implies a change in the tax for diesel cars. Let's be honest, the change won't be down. To see the paragraph mentioned see @alexgrantuk's tweet here.

FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDED

LONG TERM CAR REVIEW - SUBARU OUTBACK 2.0D SE PREMIUM LINEATRONIC

The second first for the show is the loan of a long term car for review. We thank Subaru for allowing us to evaluate a Subaru Outback.
