VOLKSWAGEN ENGINE FIX
There has been anecdotal evidence that the VW fix has caused a worsening in performance to engines. Volkswagen state that there will be no reduction in power or mpg. Autocar has taken a reader's car and checked it out. The results were a drop in power, a drop in mpg and a huge drop in NOx emitted - which is what was meant to happen. VW has responded by saying only 1% of owners have complained following the free fix. To read more click the Autocar article here.
FCA FACING US LAWSUIT
US Officials are preparing a lawsuit against FCA following the investigation and ongoing discussions over the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 diesel engines. FCA say there's nothing wrong, officials say there's "auxiliary emissions control devices”. Time is running out for FCA to explain the devices. To read more click the Bloomberg article here. ITALY FACING LEGAL ACTION FROM EU
The European Union has started legal action against Italy over the failure to retest FCA engines that had been reported for test manipulation. To read more click the Autocar article here.
FORD SACKS CEO
Ford have replaced their CEO, Mark Fields, with Jim Hackett. Poor sales, a drop in profits and lack of movement from the company into areas vital for the future development of the company, are the reasons being given. DUCKS USED IN PROTEST
The villagers of Steeple Aston have used rubber ducks to help highlight the dreadful state of their roads, to Oxfordshire Council. FORMULA E RESULT
Following another action-packed (accident-riddled) race, Buemi wins for the fifth time this season. Di Grassi and Vergne, Buemi's closest rivals for the championship, crashed out.
