Episode 101 : Meant to be Fun - Proton Sale, F-Pace win #WCOTY, New York Motorshow, Alan drives a car, #ProjectSwarm

This week there is only one small piece of Follow Up, which Andrew get straight into.

FOLLOW UP - PROTON SALE DECISION

As Geely have pulled out of bidding for Proton, leaving only the PSA Group, mean a decision is due by the end of June. To read more click here.

JAGUAR F-PACE WINS WCOTY

Congratulations to Jaguar as the F-Pace has won World Car Design of the Year and World Car of the Year. Andrew and Alan do discuss some of the runners up and question why they were in the running. To read more about the other category winners click here.

NEW YORK MOTORSHOW

Andrew is, perhaps, a touch harsh on the New York Motor Show's exhibitors with his introduction, the chaps discuss what was on display. To run through some of the highlights click here.

SUPPORT THE SHOW - PATREON SUBSCRIPTION

We now offer the ability to support the chaps and help them to produce more content by making a monthly donation, via Patreon. Support can be made from $1 upwards, whatever you feel is appropriate, it will have a massive and immediate effect on the podcast.  To support the show please click here.

ALAN DRIVES A CAR

Alan's parents now own a new BMW 530D and he got a go behind the wheel. Alan explains that there have been significant changes over the last generation. Andrew gets the opportunity to rant about useless technology that doesn't actually enhance our lives or solve a problem we actually have.

EVO RACE OF REMEMBRANCE FILM

EVO have released a video about Mission Motorsport's Race of Remembrance, held in November on Anglesea. As ever, it is beautifully shot and helps to show the chaps what they will (hopefully) witness when they attend the event later this year. To see the video click here. To visit Mission Motorsport's website click here.

PROJECT SWARM

Tom Ford, TV presenter and Top Gear writer, has embarked on a new project. He has decided to customise a Mitsubishi L200 into a more extreme vehicle. He has roped in Ralph Hosier and crew to help with this. Think big wheels, flared arches, a drone launchpad and you'll be along the right lines. To read more about this wonderful and fun project click here.

AND FINALLY....PETROLBLOG NEW YORK MOTORSHOW AWARDS

Friend of the show, Gavin Braithwaite-Smith, published a wonderful counterbalance to the flood of recent PR-speak press releases that use an awful lot of words, that occasionally mean something. To read more click here and enjoy.

REAR VIEW PODCAST

Don't forget the new show from the team at Motoring Podcast, Rear View, where we talk to fascinating people from the motoring universe. To go listen to the episodes already released on iTunes click here.
