The chaps start the week, as they do many, with #Dieselgate follow up. Thankfully it is brief this time!

FOLLOW UP - PIECH CAUSES A STIR

Former Volkswagen boss Ferdinand Piech has stated that he informed the VW board six months earlier than has been previously stated. VW aren't happy about this and deny the news. Piech's lawyer has since stated that this was discussed with Volkswagen's internal investigators, Jones Day, and not meant for the public media. To read more click here and click here.

FOLLOW UP - NISSAN FOUND GUILTY IN SOUTH KOREA

Nissan has been found guilty of using a cheat device in South Korea, on their 1.6-litre diesel engine. Nissan deny this very strongly. They are currently taking the South Korean government's environmental department for the £300,00 fine they were slapped with last year. To read more click here.

WRC SWEDEN RESULT

Congratulations to Toyota on their first win, since returning to competition, in the second race! Jari-Matti Latvala brought the Yaris in first, ahead of M-Sport's Tanak and Ogier. Bad luck hit Meeke and Neuville once again. To read more about the rally click here.

DRIVER BLAMES QASHQAI

A driver has been cleared of dangerous driving, for an incident where a pedestrian was killed. The claim is that the Qashqai accelerated, on by itself. Nissan has investigated the car and can find nothing that would have caused this to happen. To read more click here.

NEW CHILD CAR SEAT RULES

MCLAREN TO OPEN NEW FACILITY IN SHEFFIELD

McLaren announced they will be opening a £50M facility to produce carbon fibre chassis. The facility will create approximately 200 jobs. To read more click here.
