FOLLOW UP: AUDI RECALLING SOME A8 MODELS
Audi is recalling V8 4.2l diesel A8s built between September 2013 and August 2017, as there are concerns that these have emission manipulation software. The fix is a software-only solution. To read more click the Automotive News Europe link here.
FOLLOW UP: AUDI TO PRODUCE E-DIESEL
Audi has been working on creating an almost neutral CO2 diesel. Using renewably produced electricity, electrolysis and 'chemical synthesis' the diesel will be produced. To read more click the Top Gear link here.
FOLLOW UP: LCV GET IN ON THE SCRAPPAGE ACTION
Mercedes Vans has announced a scrappage scheme, which has prompted some to query if the automotive industry is panicking. That is probably a bit strong, however, if you are offering a scrappage scheme for environmental reasons then vans need to be included. To read more click the Motor1 link here.
TATA INVESTS IN FARADAY FUTURE, MAYBE
Tata has apparently invested $900 million into Faraday Future, although they are refusing to comment on the matter. Alan and Andrew are not convinced it is true and wonder how Faraday is worth the $9 billion it is claimed. To read more click the Autocar link here.
FRENCH GOVERNMENT OFFLOADS SHARES IN RENAULT
President Macron, in a stunning move for a politician, keeps a promise and sells 4.7% of the shares the French Government owns in Renault. They remain the largest shareholder. To read more click the Motor1 link here.
AUTOLIB CARS GETTING TRASHED
Autolib are experiencing issues with their fleet of cars, in Paris, that all ride-hailing, car sharing businesses need to consider, people do not treat the cars well. In this instance, homeless people are gaining access to the cars to sleep or use as a temporary home. But this brings up the issue that people will not treat these things with any respect. GARBAGE NEWS ITEM OF THE WEEK
Many outlets have reported that Uber is going to produce a flying car in 2020. This is of course nonsense. Alan clarifies that flying cars are a misnomer. Andrew tells people off for reporting this (and other recent claims by companies) without calling them out or even questioning the validity. GEELY BUYS A COMPANY

Andrew went to the Race of Remembrance, at the Anglesey International Circuit, and ended up in PT Sportscar garage for the race. Occasionally he was nearly useful to the team.
