DISCOVERY DISCOVERY OFFICIAL IMAGES REVEALED

With the first official Discovery picture being revealed by Land Rover Alan gets to say, unfortunately, he told us so. Now we know it is definitely going to be an inflated Discovery Sport. #DIESELGATE - VW AGREEMENT WITH CALIFORNIA

A judge has approved the agreement that Volkswagen has reached with the State of California, resulting in a payment totalling $86 million. That’s another legal action which VW can put behind them. To read more click here.

GERMANY ASK EUROPEAN COMMISSION TO INVESTIGATE FIAT

The German regulator has asked the European Commission to investigate, what it claims, is a defeat device that Fiat is using in some models. The chaps will watch out for where this story goes and let you know. To read more, in the meantime, click here.

FCA CALLS TO DEALERS INVESTIGATED

In the US, federal investigators are looking into calls from FCA executives to ascertain if coded phrases were being delivered that were part of the over reporting of sales. Of particular interest is the phrase was the “natural acts department” was open. The investigation is still in the early stages, once again Alan and Andrew will keep an eye out for developments. MITSUBISHI RAIDED

Following the news that more vehicles’s official mpg were calculated incorrectly by Mitsubishi Japanese officials have raided their offices. Whilst it does give Andrew the opportunity to say ‘RAIDED’ in a silly voice there are no more details. Similar to other raids reported in the show, information will take many months to be revealed. SMMT NEW REGISTRATION FIGURES FOR AUGUST

August is traditionally a quiet month with September coming up and traditionally this is a spike month with the change in registrations. Sales overall were up 3.3%, driven (pun intended) by fleet sales as both business and private sales dropped. Whilst the chaps don’t want to leap on one month’s figures they will be tracking private sales, as this could well be a barometer in how things are going. To read more click here.

SKODA KODIAQ REVEALED

Skoda has revealed their seven seater SUV called the Kodiaq. Stunning Andrew and Alan the starting price is £22,500! Considering the price hike expected for the Discovery Discovery, which will sell for £50k +, this sounds astonishing value for money! To see more click here.

FORMULA E NEWS

Audi is officially partnering with a team, for next season, which is good news for the series.

In the UK, next season television coverage will be delivered by Channel 5 instead of ITV. Hopefully the quality will remain the same and viewing figures can be increased. To read more click here.

REAL-WORLD MPG

Andrew came across an interesting article on Top Gear’s website discussing a British company, Emissions Analytics, and how their system is the most accurate, to date for real-world mpg figures. DRIVERLESS BUSES TRIALING IN LYON

Whilst we all are allowed another peak into the obscure websites that Alan frequents, the main focus is that Navya will be trialling autonomous buses in Lyon. They will be running on a short route and have a person ready to take control if needed, but will be free to use during the year long trial. To read more click here.

AUDI A9 e-tron

The Audi A9 will now be an electric luxury car, with a 300 + mile range, when it reaches us in 2020. This, naturally, means Tesla is mentioned and “aiming for” along with other phrases that do not please Andrew. To read more click here.
