TESLA BUYS SOLARCITY
The chaps start off with some follow up on recent stories. Firstly it's the news that Tesla has indeed agreed to buy SolarCity for $2.6 billion. This wasn't in any real doubt after Elon Musk suggested it should happen. To read more click here.

BAVARIA SUES VW
In this week's #Dieselgate section Alan informs us that the State of Bavaria is now suing Volkswagen for losses to their pension fund. Andrew and Alan discuss the merits of this claim, which will probably keep legal bods fully occupied for much time and money! To see the tweet and link to the German site click here.
Further VW news, they announced a new model, the Passat GTE a plug-in hybrid. This is one of the first steps in the electrification of the Volkswagen Group. To read more click here.

Alpine are now considering releasing a convertible and more powerful models, even before the first model is released. Andrew maintains the design is dull, missing the specialness of the original. Alan desperately wants the model to be properly revealed so he can show Andrew how he is wrong (which he is not!). To read more click here.
SMMT GROWTH BUT WORRY TOO

154MPH = 56 DAY BAN
A driver was convicted for driving at 154mph, with punishment being a ban of 56 days and a fine of £365. Both the chaps feel this is a little light compared to what has been done. To read about this ridiculousness click here.
Alan was pleased with this next item as he was able to say Project Titan in a silly voice! This is due to the news that Apple have appointed Bob Mansfield as head of the said project. He has a track record of driving forward the major releases for Apple, such as the Watch, MacBook Air etc. We still do not know what Apple are doing, in terms of cars, so we will watch with interest. Two years ago PSA Group had to be bailed out, this week they announce record profits. That's an amazing turnaround, which pleases both of the chaps. To read about the amazing figures please click here.
Ex CEO of Porsche, Wendelin Wiedeking, has had an appeal by German prosecutors dropped, regarding market manipulation during the takeover battle with VW. This finally draws a line under this matter. To read more click here.
