Episode 32 : Ugh, I can see you - Budget March 2016, Aston Martin and Red Bull hypercar, SEAT in profit, expensive car park space, Newspress Awards, GT-86 restyled, Goodwood Meeting, Civic testing

This week Alan and Andrew are actually in the same room together, which is rare enough, but they also decided to record an episode whilst in the same room. A first for The Motoring Podcast!

Firstly, whilst not looking at each other as it was too off putting, Alan announced another review! This time the chaps thank @richgoodingcom for his lovely review and kind words! Please do go to iTunes and leave us a nice rating and review as it helps the show immensely.

Moving on to the news, Andrew starts with the latest Budget announcement from the Chancellor. Highlights are freezing of fuel duty, petroleum revenue tax reduced, increase in insurance premium tax, infrastructure investment such as motorways and the possible Trans Pennine Tunnel, Seven Bridge tolls being halved, investment in connected and driverless cars, Pothole Action Fund, and funds to fix the damage caused by the storms this winter.

Here is the link to Daimler's YouTube channel with the vids for their Campus Connectivity event, showing lorries 'platooning' on the autobahn.

Alan came across the story of the country's most expensive parking space. If you need to be in central London and have £350k, this is for you! Incredulity and sarcasm may have been deployed to deal with this story.

Both Andrew and Alan are fans of SEAT, who have recorded a profit for the first time since 2008, which cheered them heartily. Congrats to SEAT, we all hope it continues.

Aston and Red Bull have announced that they are working together to launch the next generation of 'hypercar'. Figures sound ridiculous! Both Alan and Andrew can't wait to see what it is they actually come up with.

Newspress, who is a central hub for manufacturers and journalists to communicate with each other, had their inaugural Awards. Click through here and see who did well. Here is Keith Jones's excellent review vid.

Toyota have announced that they will be revealing a slightly restyled GT-86. From the pics seen, it does have more presence. Alan gets to moan about how the wheels are slightly inbound. Still.

Over the weekend Goodwood held the 74th Member's Meeting. You can catch up or watch again, via their YouTube channel. Basically, it looked fab and the chaps need to attend.

The new Honda Civic has been spotted out and about testing on UK roads. Even under the disguise wrap it looks to be quite close in shape to the concept revealed at Geneva.

To wrap the show up, Andrew spotted this story about how you can hire a Twizzy in the Lake District this year. There are several locations to collect and drop off at and it sounds like a brilliant idea!
