FOLLOW UP - VW CONFIRM MOTORSPORT CHANGES
Volkswagen released a press statement to confirm the changes to their motorsport activities following the exit from WRC, that was discussed last week. To read more click here.
NEW DEFEAT DEVICE FOUND IN AUDIS CLAIM
California Air Resources Board (CARB) announced that they have found a new defeat device which monitors the steering wheel. The claim is that if the wheel doesn't move 15 degrees the car understands it is on a dynamo and runs at specific settings. VW ADAMANT DEFEAT DEVICE LEGAL IN EU
Volkswagen has, once again, stated the defeat device that is illegal in the US breaks no laws in the EU. Interestingly a court in Spain has found that a customer can claim against VW, but the chaps do not know why yet. At the same time, the German Transport Minister stated that was incorrect, and the device is illegal. Again what laws they are breaking has not been made clear. To read more click here.

JLR NOT BUYING SILVERSTONE
Jaguar Land Rover have pulled out of negotiations to buy Silverstone. This is the second potential buyer to do so. To read more click here.
EU INVESTIGATES ASSURANCES GIVEN TO NISSAN
The EU has asked for more details on what assurances have been given to Nissan by the UK Government. As we are still members of the EU we still fall under their rules. To read more click here.
VAUXHALL CORSA RECALL
Vauxhall has recalled 1.4 Turbo Corsas built between 2006 - 2014 due to a potential fire risk. This is different from the ongoing issues with the Zafira B, the chaps have previously discussed. If you are affected or know someone who is please click here to read more.
BREXIT BOOSTS SALES
Due to the strength, or lack thereof, the pound interest from abroad has increased in UK based right-hand drive cars. So finally a good news story connected with Brexit! To read more click here.
ADMIRAL BLOCKED BY FACEBOOK
The UK insurer Admiral announced they wanted to trial offering insurance prices to new drivers based on people's Facebook posts. This caused a little bit of a stir, to read more click here. Facebook has blocked this move because it contravened it's terms of service, to read more click here.
OCTOBER SMMT REGISTRATION FIGURES

DEWAR TROPHY AND SIMMS MEDAL WINNERS
Favourite of the show, Gordon Murray Design's OX and iStream has won the Dewar Trophy, if only Andrew could pronounce it! This is awarded for "outstanding British technical achievement". To read more click here.
