FOLLOW UP - SUNDERLAND SURVIVES
Nissan announced, earlier than we were led to expect, that the next generation X-Trail and Qashqai will be built at their Sunderland plant. This is great news for the car industry, Sunderland, and the UK. The “assurances” that Nissan felt were sufficient, will be offered to all the UK based car manufacturing companies. FIAT TIPO POOR SAFETY RATING
The new FIAT Tipo has been given 3 Stars by NCAP, without the optional extra safety pack which takes it up to 4 Stars. This is quite shocking in today’s market as the expectation is 4 to 5 Stars. This is disappointing as good things have been said about the rest of the car by those who’ve tried it so far. To read more click here.
BIGGER RANGED RENAULT ZOE NOW IN UK
The new Zoe, with the claimed mileage of 250 miles, is in the UK now. Once more Andrew and Alan get to talk about range anxiety and how most people don’t need massive ranges but don’t realise it. Renault are also offering a free wall charger, including installation. This is a great step that will help make it an easier choice to pick an EV. To read more click here.
A White Paper was released by Uber, outlining a possible future of VTOL vehicles transporting passengers to their destinations. In the next decade! Alan and Andrew do scoff somewhat at this due to the selection of VTOLs and the timescale. To read more click here.
DRIVERLESS TRUCK TAKES TO COLORADO HIGHWAY
A lorry, with a trailer full of Budweiser, has driven autonomously across Colorado on the public highways with normal traffic. The chaps discuss the sense in automating freight traffic. To read more click here.

LIST OF THE WEEK - BEST LOOKING JAPANESE CARS
Friend of the show, @MajorGav, listed the Best Looking Japanese Cars on Motoring Research. Basically, it’s a wet dream for Alan as he’s a massive fan of Japanese cars, in case you hadn’t noticed. Andrew is also quite pleased with this list, just to be fair and balanced. To read it click here.
