FOLLOW UP - VW OFFERS CASH TO US DEALERS
Volkswagen has now confirmed their financial offer to dealers in the US, following tentative agreement in August. They will pay a whopping $1.21 billion, the judge approves. To read more click here.
FORMULA E CHARGED UP FOR 2018/19
This week it was announced that McLaren Applied Technologies (you remember them, the one's Apple wants) will be the battery supplier for Formula E teams, during the 2018/19 season, replacing Williams. To read more click here.

That leads Alan nicely onto a reminder that the 2016/17 season starts this weekend in Hong Kong. Don’t forget Channel 5 will be the free-to-air broadcaster in the UK.
MANUFACTURERS TALK BREXIT
Nissan have now explained their position with regards to the UK’s decision to vote for Brexit. If we leave the single market then they will require financial support to invest any more money in their Sunderland plant. To read more click here.
Jaguar Land Rover heard this and made their opinion known if that is the case all must be supported, not just Nissan. To read more click here.
Quietly, whilst this was being focused on Vauxhall announced prices will be going up, following losses already incurred after the referendum results came in. To read more click here.

MOTOR SHOW ‘STAND GIRLS’
Autocar’s Jimi Beckwith wrote an article asking the question if it was time to do away with ‘stand girls’ at motor shows. That we have them, in this day and age, is quite pathetic. For an industry that is trying to say it is inclusive, where it celebrates the increasing numbers of women involved, this is such a backward step. Enough of this. To read more click here.

Andrew found an interesting article, listing the many benefits and challenges with moving to autonomous cars. Little is being considered about the financial implications, through industries disappearing, jobs being lost and so on. As autonomous cars are coming thinking caps need to be deployed.
